ICT Week – Podgorica’s Week of ICT Events
The capital city of Podgorica, in collaboration with the ICT Cortex association, is organizing ICT Week – a week-long series of ICT-related events. These events cover various topics in the field of information and communication technology, spread out over seven days of rich content.
The main sponsor of ICT Week is the honorary member of the cluster, Crnogorski Telekom, with support from the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro, the Central Bank of Montenegro, and Sky Express.
The official opening of ICT Week is scheduled for Monday, October 3rd when the winners of the Capital City’s competition to support the startup ICT community will be announced. These winners will receive vouchers to attend the largest IT event, the Web Summit conference in Lisbon. The first day of ICT Week will also feature the II networking gathering of ICT community representatives organized by the cluster, along with a musical performance by the Lombelico band.
Tuesday, October 4th, is reserved for two separate thematic events: starting at 10 a.m. at the CUE Hotel, there will be a conference on cybersecurity titled “Integrator,” organized by the cluster member Sky Express. In the afternoon, for all gaming enthusiasts, there will be a Gaming Night – presentations by Montenegrin gaming studios and their pioneering steps in this promising industry. This will include the central event, the 3Hills “League of Legends” competition, and accompanying entertainment.
The third day of ICT Week is dedicated to young innovators. Various types of workshops, quizzes, and competitions related to programming, gaming, and IT innovations will take place at the stands of IT companies and innovative organizations. The content planned for this day will primarily delight the younger population.
The final event of the first season of the ICT Cortex Academy’s ICT education program will also be held during ICT Week, on October 6th.
On the same day, there is a meetup dedicated to women in ICT at Kuslevo’s House – Women in Tech. Successful women who confirm through their work that women deserve a place in this promising and rapidly growing industry will participate. On Thursday, October 6th, Crnogorski Telekom will present advanced solutions for the digitalization of small and medium-sized businesses to the business community at the Hilton Hotel.
“The Role of FinTech in Democratizing the Financial Environment” is the title of the CBCG FinTech conference, which, for the second year in a row, is organized by the Central Bank of Montenegro in collaboration with ICT Cortex and the Association of Banks of Montenegro. In addition to representatives from the central banks of Europe and Asia, international fintech companies, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Mastercard, as well as Montenegrin banking and ICT sectors – members of the Montenegrin cluster ICT Cortex, will also participate in the conference. Within the conference, the opening ceremony of the regional CBCG FinTech hackathon will be organized – a 48-hour competition to create fintech solutions.
The third conference this week dedicated to ICT will be held the next day, on Saturday, October 8th, under the title IT Spot. The conference will be opened by Janek Rozov from the Government of Estonia, who will highlight possible directions for the digitalization of public administration based on his country’s example. The conference will cover IT trends, the importance of the ecosystem, as well as the development of leaders who will initiate and implement digital changes in society, smart cities, and more.
Representatives from the regional IT scene and experts in human resources management and smart cities will take the stage.
The closing of ICT Week is planned for Sunday, October 9th, at the Hilton Hotel, following the announcement of the winners of the II CBCG FinTech Hackathon.
